The Pwn2Own event for the year 2021 was held on April 8, where hackers hacked Windows 10, Ubuntu Desktop operating system, Apple Safari as well as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
At the end of the three – day event, the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI), which organized the event, paid $ 1.2 million to 16 hackers.
The companies will be given 90 days to patch up any vulnerabilities identified, after which they will release the information.
In addition, for the first time in the history of the Pwn2Own event, a female hacker was able to win a victory, and a woman named Alisa Esage discovered a bug related to the Parallels virtualization software.
However, due to a bug reported to ZDI before the event, she received only a portion of the prize money, and she has expressed her dissatisfaction.
